Demystifying ophidism: bridging school and society to develop educational resources

چکیده

Abstract Schools are inseparable from communities, and learning should empower students the community to think act on issues that affect them. In semiarid Brazilian Caatinga, snake bites a health issue. Negative beliefs poor knowledge about snakes seed harmful attitudes, leading high frequencies of problems conservation these animals. Thus, we question whether development scientific environmental education content using teaching strategies valued prior local communities context-related information could help overcome reduce accidents. The evaluation this showed positive changes in perception acquisition new animals, prevention post-bite actions, indicating adopted strategy supports science learning, contributing both public snakes.
